A successful marriage requires
falling in love many times,
always with the same person.

To my Grandkids
A GRANDMOTHER'S PRAYER
Oh Lord, I do not ask for much,
Eternal beauty or youth or such:
Just give me a little hand to hold
And I'll forget that I'm growing old.
I do not ask for cloudless skies,
A life that's free from tears and sighs,
Just give me a little face to kiss
And anxious moments will turn to bliss.
For what is there, really, that means so much
As little hands that reach and touch,
As little eyes that search and see
Only the best in fragile me?
So let me grow more loving and wise
By looking at life through their wide eyes.
For through these little ones, Thou hast given
This grateful grandmother a glimpse of Heaven.

Lots of work but well worth it!
Thanksgiving comes around as quickly as Christmas and every other year we get together as a family. Now that we live in a townhome it isn't as easy to have our children and grandchildren in our home all at once. Thank goodness for their large homes and our clubhouse where we can gather, eat sitting down and visit with each other. This year I decided that I wanted a group picture in front of the fireplace to see how we were growing. I am astounded and amazed that now we have 16 grandchildren. All of them beautiful and growing up way too fast. Thank goodness we keep having little babies and I know that can't go on forever. This was a memorable Thanksgiving and most enjoyable.

Comments on July 29
On July 29, 2010 our oldest grandchild took her wedding vows and joined the married couples. We are so happy for her. Not so much for us because we know that adding another family will spread her time even thinner. However, with that said we are still really happy for her and Logan. It just seems so odd that we are old enough to have married grandchildren. They are a wonderful couple and that helps a lot.
